Flashing lights and neon attire made a return to school over the past weekend for Archmere’s annual MORP dance. The colorful tradition, marking the start of the school year, has become a favorite among the Archmere community. Students don glow-in-the-dark clothes, tie-dye tank tops, and sports jerseys as they dance the night away to their favorite songs.
Harsh storms didn’t stop students from making the most out of the MORP celebrations. Although violent thunderstorms nearly hindered the dance, students still showed all out for the dance, albeit a little wet.
Upper- and underclassmen alike rocked along to Rihanna and Nicki Minaj. However, the highlight of the dance came in the unexpected form of original song “MORP” created by Adam Nowacyzk ‘27. The rap track, created specifically for this year’s dance, quickly became a fan favorite among students.
Although MORP is over, the Archmere community still has much excitement coming its way. With the Homecoming dance on September 30th and fall sports games just now gearing up, it looks like a fantastic start to a new year for the Auks!
