The homecoming weekend on October 15th was one filled with ambitious sports players showing off their skills, and eager sports fans showing their Archmere pride. These games were all nail biters that had the Archmere soccer, football, field hockey, and volleyball fans on the edge of their seats. The players were not only on a roll on homecoming weekend, but at every game after that as well.

To start off the weekend, the Archmere soccer team defeated Middletown with a 2-1 score, coming back from their 1-5 loss against Salesianum. Meanwhile, on the football field, the Archmere football team beat Tower Hill in a very exhilarating game, ending with a 26-15 score. The next weekend, they went on to beat Caesar Rodney at 28-6, which came out to be closely predicted by Delaware Online. Unfortunately, the field hockey team lost their homecoming game to Smyrna at 0-2, but came back at their next game by beating Tatnall 1-0! Lastly, volleyball lost to Charter School of Wilmington with a 1-3 score, but came back in the next weeks by defeating Conrad with a 3-0 score.

Disregarding the scores and end results of these games, Homecoming weekend was a beautiful way for Archmere alumni and students to come together after a long time of being apart! Parents of sports players organized many tailgates with food, drinks, and Archmere merchandise. One peculiar thing about the day was that it started to storm in the middle of the football game, but the players and cheerleaders quickly adapted and the team was still able to beat Towerhill. In the last quarter, a rainbow even appeared over the field! This was a great way to wrap up the homecoming festivities, and now the Archmere athletes are ready to close out their fall seasons with wins left and right, and start preparing for the winter season!
