Fall fashion trends of 2025 blend sophistication and playfulness. This season is all about mixing textures, silhouettes, and timeless staples. After years of structure and minimalism, designers are loosening up with oversized bags, relaxed denim, and layers that balance effortlessness with attitude.
Boho chic is back with designers like Isabel Marant displaying flowy lace blouses, layered leather, and fringe. “I feel like fringe and Boho chic is very in right now. A lot of it stems from Christian Girl Autumn fashion, which was popular in 2016” states Emily Juarez ‘26. She adds “Trends [always] seem to return years later.”
Studs aren’t just punk princess or indie sleaze anymore; they’re showing up on handbags, denim, and even ballet flats. Studded details can elevate an outfit, transforming an otherwise boring outfit into a more sophisticated look.
Kayla Iroha ‘26, states, “I feel like during the fall I wear my Birkenstock clogs often, as well as low-rise jeans, brown sweaters, Ugg boots, and denim skirts.”
In addition to comfortable clog style shoes, riding boots and classic Frye styles are a major comeback this year. Pair them with baggy denim—or even skinny jeans, a controversially resurging basic.
Leather bags are moving away from micro-bags into slouchier, oversized shapes, with the Balenciaga City bag leading the revival. Popular brands such as Brandy Melville, Free People, and Urban Outfitters are following this trend, with more large leather bags going into production.
At Archmere, these trends arrive just in time for Tag Days. Expect to see flowy blouses tucked into baggy jeans, slouchy leather totes replacing minis, and plenty of boots—from chunky Uggs to sleek riding pairs—lined up in the Student Life Center. The shift toward looser, layered silhouettes makes Tag Day outfits comfortable, appropriate, and fashion-forward, a sweet spot for students balancing dress-code rules with personal style.
This season proves that fall fashion is about both comfort and experimentation. Grab your boots, mix your textures, and don’t be afraid to recycle a trend or two.
