At Archmere’s Catholic Schools Week Assembly, Mr. JR Creekmore of the Science department and Mrs. Tara Creekmore, chair of the History department, won the “Best Teacher Duo” Emmy award. It’s easy to see why they’re such a popular pair. Annabelle Demosthene ‘26 says “they’re just so iconic.”
The Creekmores have a strong relationship that their students can clearly see. Though they teach in different buildings and don’t see each other often throughout the school day, they bond over sharing the same workspace community. Mrs. Creekmore says that she appreciates Mr. Creekmore’s calm nature since it balances out her impulsiveness. “He’s always cool and collected compared to my more volatile self,.” she said.
In their free time, Mr. and Mrs. Creekmore like to spend time with their young daughters, Audrey and Phoebe. They enjoy family trips to Bellevue Park, the Philadelphia Zoo, the Aquarium, and Longwood Gardens. In the summer, they visit the beach and the pool together. Mrs. Creekmore adds “If we are lucky and have time without the girls we like to go for a run together.”
Together, Mr. and Mrs. Creekmore take on the challenges of family and work life while also still finding time for each other. There is no pair more deserving of this award than the Creekmores.
