The Field Hockey team’s strong performance at the end of their regular season provided them the opportunity to compete in the first round of state playoffs. They gained the #6 seed in the tournament, allowing them to play a lower seed and get a home-field advantage. They played DMA on Wednesday at 2:00 at home. They went into this game confident since they had won 5-0 when they played this team earlier in the season. Luckily, this confidence carried over into the final result as the auks came away with a strong 6-1 win. Maura Read ‘25 logged her 4th Hat Trick of the season along with Carly Polsky ‘25’s 2 goals and Cecilia Patino ‘26’s 1 goal. This win guaranteed their spot in the Quarterfinals at Caravel Academy on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. They look to advance their season even longer and continue their win streak.
The volleyball team had a similar end of the regular season and the first round of playoffs. After gaining a 14th seed placement and home-court advantage, the Auks looked to face Caravel Academy, the 19th seed on Thursday at 6:30. Since they beat the Buccaneers earlier in the season, hopes and optimism were high going into this game. The Auks came through and gained the 3-2 win over the Bucs. This strong performance allowed the Auks a spot in the Quarterfinals to play at Caesar Rodney HS on Saturday at 6:30 pm.
